In order to meet the varying needs of the men and women who chose to heal and recover with us at Park Royal Behavioral Health Services, we are proud to offer an invaluable intensive outpatient program (IOP) at our location in Naples, Florida. This program supplies care for men and women, aged 18 and older, who have the following treatment needs due to the presence of a mental health condition(s) and/or substance use disorder(s):
- Men and women who have completed partial hospitalization programming, yet require additional support before stepping down to traditional outpatient services or other such continuing care services or resources
- Men and women who require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient services, so as to receive ample support and guidance that will aid in the healing and recovery processes
The dedicated clinical staff who provides treatment within the intensive outpatient program at Park Royal Behavioral Health Services are expertly trained and qualified to care for a myriad of conditions, which include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Depressive disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related concerns
- Substance use disorders
- Co-occurring mental health conditions
- Other emotional or behavioral concerns
Based on a cognitive behavioral approach to care, treatment for these conditions in the intensive outpatient program occurs in a group format, as a great deal of healing can be gained when patients can draw support, encouragement, and information from others who have endured similar challenges. By partaking in groups, patients are also able to identify negative thought patterns, come to understand how those thoughts can impact behavior in an adverse way, and alter those thought processes to then demonstrate more positive and healthy behaviors. Once this type of thought and behavior modification is learned, patients can then apply that knowledge and understanding to everyday situations. The IOP clinical team assists patients in progressing in this way via psychoeducational and process groups so as to further the healing and recovery processes.
As part of the group therapy sessions held in the intensive outpatient program, patients are able to participate in discussions that are focused on the different struggles that they are facing. These discussions can be centered on topics such as acceptance, self-esteem, relapse prevention, symptom management, coping skills, and anger management. During these discussions, patients can benefit from giving and receiving support to and from peers who are facing similar challenges. By encouraging and learning from one another, patients can not only come to realize that they are not isolated in their struggles, but also that they are capable of overcoming those struggles. Additionally, in the group setting, patients are afforded the opportunity to practice the skills that they have learned in treatment so that they can feel more confident when implementing them in real-world settings.
In addition to group therapy, individuals who take part in the intensive outpatient program may receive individual therapy and supportive therapy, as well as unstructured time to interact with other patients. Through the implementation of the various interventions offered in IOP, patients can achieve an improved mood, greater emotional tolerance, restored relationships, enhanced socialization skills, and a greater ability to participate in daily activities. In sum, by receiving the comprehensive care offered through Park Royal’s IOP, individuals can achieve an improvement in their overall wellbeing.
Each patient who takes part in intensive outpatient programming here at Park Royal Behavioral Health Services is viewed as a unique individual who possesses various emotional, physical, and medical needs. Therefore, the focus of the personalized treatment plans created for patients is based on individual needs, strengths, and resources so that the most favorable treatment outcomes can be achieved and maintained even after completing treatment at Park Royal Behavioral Health Services. Furthermore, if a patient is grappling with a co-occurring medical condition, case management services can be incorporated into his or her treatment plan in order to prevent him or her from being unable to reap the full benefits of engaging in IOP.
The intensive outpatient program at Park Royal Behavioral Health Services generally lasts approximately 12 weeks, though a patient’s time in this program can be shorter or longer depending on his or her needs. Participation in specific groups is also dependent on a patient’s treatment requirements, as Park Royal’s IOP offers two treatment tracks that cares for those working to heal and recover from mental health and co-occurring conditions.
Mental health and/or co-occurring IOP groups are offered five days per week from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m
